An excellent option for those who say “I don’t have an artistic bone in my body,” because you CAN do this. Plus, studies show doodlers can retain 29% more information than non-doodlers. Contrary to what some think, activities like Zentangle improve attention and focus. In today’s busy world, it’s important to make time to relax. Simple things like Zentangle drawing and doodling can help bring calm amid busy schedules. Exploring this form of art will help participants see that there is no right or wrong to be beautiful and it's a great way for families to be together.

(6 weeks) FREE 1:00 – 3:00 pm
If you live or work in Springfield and enjoy being part of a community, this project is for you.
Beginning on Earth Day weekend, teams of families will be lead on a scavenger hunt in the Wall Street neighborhood to find objects to be used in the creation of a mural that resembles a community garden.
Families - adults and children - are invited to gather, assemble and paint objects to look like plants and flowers in a garden. The finished dimensional mural of Upcycled goods will be installed on the corner of Wall & Bridge Streets. It will read “Springfield Supports Community Gardens.” Pre-registration not required. Contact Mona Frye with questions or information, 802-289-3005. Come one or multiple Saturdays, starting on April 21st. Gathering at 1:00 pm at 188 Wall Street (corner of Bridge Street).
