Swimming
The SVHRC houses both a competition-sized lap pool and "zero depth" wading pool. Both pools maintain an average temperature between 80-84°. While the pool is under the constant supervision of a certified lifeguard, we do ask that children under age 10 be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times while on the pool deck.
Our 6-lane Olympic-sized lap pool measures 45'x 75' and ranges in depth from 3.5 to 9 feet. All six lanes are reserved for adult lap swim until 10am every morning; after that, two lanes remain aside just for our fitness swimmers. The remainder of the pool operates on a rotating schedule to accomodate children, families, and classes.
The wading pool appeals to children and adults alike. Its beach-like ramp entry allows for the tiniest babies to splash in just a few inches of water while providing an easier entry method for adults with back and joint pain or mobility devices.
The SVHRC is excited to offer the Red Cross Learn-To-Swim program. Group and private lessons are available at every level for both children and adults. Please see our "Swimming Classes" page for more information.
