Custodial Staff 

Our Building Services Department is seeking part-time (approximately 20 hours per week) help.  Evening/weekend hours between 9pm and 4am.

 

Responsibilities include cleaning, mopping, dusting, scrubbing floors, showers, counter tops, sinks, toilets, and other janitorial tasks.  The ideal candidate is a hard-worker, who is reliable and consistent.  Pay is commensurate with experience and employee is eligible for a free membership.

Personal Trainer

As a Personal Trainer at the Edgar May Health and Recreation Center you are the first line of contact for our growing list of members. We provide our members with Free Personal Training sessions every quarter and our members will rely on you for an accurate assessment of their fitness, as well as a personalized fitness strategy. If you are someone who is passionate about Personal Training and you’re a self-starter this is a unique & excellent opportunity. Extremely competitive rates and the opportunity to start small & grow quickly are just two of the highlights of this position.  Position also provides opportunity to teach both group exercise classes and innovative small group training programs.

 

Qualifications & Experience (in order of priority)

 

Candidate must be a Certified Personal Trainer (preferably NASM).

Experience required - 2 years minimum.

Proven self-starter with Personal Training sales experience.

Ideal candidate has a degree in Exercise Science or related field of study.

Experience with Functional Movement Assessment (ie: NASM OHSA, FMS).

Enjoys working with all populations and levels of fitness.

Aquatic experience a plus.
Group exercise instruction a plus.

Water Safety Instructor

Learn to Swim and Water Safety Instructors teach our group and private swimming lessons.  Applicants must possess the ability to teach multi-level classes of varying types.

General Responsibilities: The Swim Instructor conducts swim lessons for members and guests in private, semi-private, and group settings following established facility policies and procedures and ensures the safety of all participants. He or she must fully understand the aquatics program and the goals of the individuals involved in the program. In addition, the Instructor must ensure the safe and clean use of all pools and deck areas.

Lifeguard

CPR and American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification required.  Daytime, evening and weekend shifts available.  The EdgarMay is willing to pay for the cost of the certification course for the right candidate.
